Angela Maddix is
an artist based in Asheville, North Carolina. Her media is hand torched glass rods
formed into beautiful patterned beads. The colors are vibrant and
the patterns
are compleax. This method of melting glass
began on the island of Murano, Italy. The craft
remained a secret for centuries until the world marketplace opened. This soft glass art form was originally called lampworking, as oil lamps were used to melt the glass.
Today, oxygen and gas fueled torches
heat and melt the pencil thin rods. A collection of dots and lines make each bead’s
design. The secondary colors can
be melted flat into the bead
design or left raised on the surface.

All of my beads are individually made, one of a kind. So once they are sold, they are gone. Take heart though, I am able to assemble a similar piece, so you can request any design that may have already sold. Along the same vein, if you see a piece that you love, but would like it another color palette, I can do that too!The jewelry pieces below are the actual piece you will purchase. Yes, I can make more, but every item and bead is unique.
